Fall Foliage on the Parkway

Professional Travel

What a day to see the Blue Ridge Parkway! The leaves are in prime form. It snowed just about 30 minutes after this picture was taken. Asheville went from a warm fall to a quick burst of winter. It was an amazing way to experience the seasons. This image has been on my mind every time I pass it on the parkway. The conditions were just right to capture the image I wanted.

November Wedding – Blue Ridge Parkway
WEDDINGS ARE THE BEST! You never have to tell someone to show emotion. The emotions are everywhere! And beautiful to capture. Maybe thats why I have such a joy photographing people on their wedding day. Holly & Greg eloped November 12, 2018 on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville. It was overcast and drizzling. We drove to several locations to find the right fit. Craggy Gardens was first choice but it was in a cloud (no views). Later we drove past this gem of a spot. It was right off the road. People slowed down to see the couple. Several honked and offered their congratulations. It was a very special moment. Even though we could have do ...

Roadtrip
Facebook gave me a time-hop reminder from two years ago. It let me know I once lived in a van. For three months, I was able to travel around the U.S. in search of the best National Park (2016 Centennial)! It was incredible. Living in a van was also half the adventure. The full adventure was deciding to adopt a 9 week old puppy right before leaving. Crazy times. We succeeded in viewing 25 states starting in Montana and ending in New York. Basically a big horseshoe around the U.S. I would not trade that time for anything and on the coldest of day (like today) it is refreshing to look back on the images and videos and remember my greatest advent ...

Chasing Waterfalls
Asheville is honestly the adventure/nature hotspot I've been hearing about. Hiking trails are everywhere! So so so happy to say that I have the Blue Ridge Parkway a short 5 minute drive from my apartment. It makes me happy to slowly explore everything. Although, when all is said and done, it might take me 5 years to see it ALL. Today we started with a hike up Catawba Falls. A local told me it was a must on a hike and had some watering holes as well. Enough said. Drive on 1-40 out of Asheville past Black Mountain and you are there in a quick 30 minutes. The trail had plenty of parking and a very wide trail. We brought our dog and had him off l ...
