FINALIST!

I am so excited to announce my photograph “Biking through Fog” has been selected as a finalist in the 15th Annual Appalachian Mountain Photography Competition. The images was chosen for the Adventure division. This is my first year submitting to the competition and am thrilled my images was one of the chosen 56 out of 1,000 images in the local area. Exciting to head down to Boone on March 23rd to see my images amongst the other finalist at the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts Gallery. You can view the gallery from March 2 – June 2, 2018!

Chasing Waterfalls
Asheville is honestly the adventure/nature hotspot I've been hearing about. Hiking trails are everywhere! So so so happy to say that I have the Blue Ridge Parkway a short 5 minute drive from my apartment. It makes me happy to slowly explore everything. Although, when all is said and done, it might take me 5 years to see it ALL. Today we started with a hike up Catawba Falls. A local told me it was a must on a hike and had some watering holes as well. Enough said. Drive on 1-40 out of Asheville past Black Mountain and you are there in a quick 30 minutes. Fire Season
Western Montana My thoughts and prayers go out to all the states in the West who are suffering from the bad fire season this year. I lived in Montana for two years and a fire can be so destructive so quickly. Cloud the air and turn a once beautiful landscape burnt for many years to come. Displacing homes for people and animals. Fires are a part of the natural cycle but with almost a million acres burned this season I am praying for snow.   In the image above, two friends and I took a midnight hike up the Bitterroot National Forest in Western Montana to view the sunrise. November Wedding – Blue Ridge Parkway
WEDDINGS ARE THE BEST! You never have to tell someone to show emotion. The emotions are everywhere! And beautiful to capture. Maybe thats why I have such a joy photographing people on their wedding day. Holly & Greg eloped November 12, 2018 on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville. It was overcast and drizzling. We drove to several locations to find the right fit. Craggy Gardens was first choice but it was in a cloud (no views). Later we drove past this gem of a spot. It was right off the road.
